Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson again called on Negrenses to get vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In his New Year’s Day message, Lacson said “as we get ready for what lies ahead, we should also recall the trials and triumphs of the past year.”

“The road we took last year was rough, yet, we are not without hope. To all my beloved Negrenses, let us welcome 2022 by getting vaccinated,” he said.

Lacson added, “By God’s grace, we hope that we are on the last stretch of this difficult path as we try to reach herd immunity.”

The governor also offered comforting words to the victims of super typhoon “Odette” assuring them that the provincial and local governments, together with the national government, are focused on rehabilitation and recovery.

“This 2022, with our compassion, accord, and commitment to stand by each other, let us rebuild our province not as it had been, but as it should be,” he said. “Armed with our faith in GOD’s grace and goodness, we pray that this new year will bring renewal, peace, and prosperity to all of us.”/DGB, WDJ
