The Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc.(FFCCCII), in cooperation with the Chinese Embassy, donated 20,000 food packs and 4.8 million kilos of rice to the different cities and municipalities in Negros Occidental that were recently affected by super typhoon “Odette.”
“More help is on the way. In fact, China announced last December 22 that it is committing an additional 1 million dollars or 50 million pesos to help the Philippines recover from this tragedy,” said John Yap, Regional Director of FFCCCII Negros Island Chapter.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia personally received 500 food packs that were donated to the city by the FFCCCII.
“We, Bacolodnons are grateful for the kindness of our Filipino-Chinese brothers and sisters. Their support and cooperation for our cause is unwavering,” Leonardia said.
Also present during the turnover were Roger Yap, chairman of Amity and director of Southern Negros Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., and Philip Yap and Kendall Ang of the Northern Negros Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc./WDJ
