Six travelers originating from Mindanao were intercepted in one of the province’s main entry points in Kabankalan City after it was found out that they do not have any travel documents.

Negros Occidental’s provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said the six were onboard a Ceres bus bound for Bacolod City when they were caught at the province’s checkpoint in Kabankalan City’s Barangay Tabugon on Friday.

The six arrived in Negros island via Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental and were headed to Kabankalan City.

They were immediately ordered to disembark and were brought to the Silay City Quarantine Facility.

Diaz added the six will undergo RT-PCR test at their own expense after five days.

The provincial government requires travelers entering Negros Occidental from the Oriental side to have an S-PaSS and a vaccination card for the fully vaccinated while those who are unvaccinated should present negative RT-PCR test results to authorities at the border checkpoint.

Diaz said the documents is a deterrent of the capitol against the spread of COVID-19./DGB, WDJ
