Jason Perkins drilled 28 points, including 20 in the first two quarters, while Vic Manuel added 18 markers as the Fuel Masters got back on the winning track with 3-5 win-loss slate.

Matthew Wright chipped in 15 points, while Bacolodnon Justin Chua and Michael Calisaan each finished with nine markers for the Phoenix Super LPG.

“We are really cautious of Terrafirma because they have defeated the bigger teams,” Fuel Masters head coach Michael Robinson said on Dyip, which stunned San Miguel Beermen and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings last week.

The Fuel Masters started strong with inside conversions from Perkins for a 29-19 edge. The Dyip rallied back to take a slim 42-41 lead but Phoenix got its shots to fall anew for a 48-47 halftime lead.

Phoenix leaned on baskets from Manuel and Calisaan to start the third as they widened the advantage to 59-49 but Terrafirma had an answer to come to within 64-69 on a buzzer-beating trey by Eric Camson.

Manuel heated up on offense in the fourth period with consecutive inside hits followed by three-pointers by RJ Jazul as the lead reached its largest at 92-74 on a conversion by Chua.

Aldrech Ramos ended up with 13 points, while Camson, Joseph Gabayni and Roosevelt Adams each finished with 11 markers as the Dyip dropped to 3-5 after seeing their three-game winning run snapped.
