Two grandmothers aged 104 years old were considered as the oldest recipients of the COVID-19 vaccines in Negros Occidental.

Kabankalan City Mayor Pedro Zayco identified the two as Argentina Azcona and Esperanza Gargantiel, both residents of the city’s Barangay 3.

Zayco said both elderly women received their AstraZeneca vaccine last August 2.

The city mayor is now regarding both women as role models of the city and he is confident that it would further convince the residents to get vaccinated.

Zayco is now urging the city’s residents to get the vaccine as well as to continue following basic health protocols./DGB, WDJ
