The Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo-native defender said that becoming part of the Cebu-based football club will play a huge role for his development as a player.

“I am extremely grateful to be part of this team and to be able to represent Cebu! I am thankful to everyone in Cebu Football Club for giving me this great opportunity as a football player,” Rosquillo wrote on his Facebook post.

“I also want to thank the people who helped me to be here today. Honing my future will still depend on myself but I am really thankful for the support that my former coaches have given me,” he added.

The 18-year-old Rosquillo is a decorated young booter as he was one of the five Ilonggos who were tapped as part of the Philippines national under-17 football team that competed in the 2018 AFF U-16 Championship in Surabaya, Indonesia. He was again chosen to be a part of the under-18 men’s national team that competed in AFF U-18 Championship 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Locally, Rosquillo also represented the Western Visayas Blue Barons team that took home the boy’s football championship during the 2019 Palarong Pambansa in Davao City. He was adjudged as the MVP and best defender.

Rosquillo was the second Ilonggo football player to be signed up by the Dynamic Herb Cebu FC aside from Sta. Barbara, Iloilo-native John Robert Solen, who joined the team earlier this year./ASC, WDJ
