A couple from Sagay City in Negros Occidental miraculously survived after their van fell into a 12-foot high dike along Sitio Lag-asan Bridge in Barangay Tinam-paan, Cadiz City yesterday morning.

Police identified the victims as Danilo and Jeraldine Hedriana, residents of Barangay Rizal in Sagay City.

Based on an initial probe carried out by traffic investigators of the Cadiz City Police Station, the van was heading south to Bacolod City when it overshot a curve while approaching the bridge causing them to plunge into the dike.

The victims were later rescued and brought to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic before being transferred to a private hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment./DGB, WDJ
