Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday issued Executive Order (EO) No. 21-34, Series of 2021 which introduced smoother travel protocols for individuals who have already been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in line with the recent protocols set by the National Inter-Agency Task Force (NIATF).
Lacson regarded the new protocols positively, stating that it would further entice the public to get the vaccine.
However, he also hopes that unscrupulous people will not start creating fake vaccination cards.
“With this [new] policy it will be comfortable now for fully vaccinated individuals to travel,” he said.
Under the NIATF Resolution No. 124-5, all fully vaccinated individuals will no longer be required to show a negative RT-PCR test when traveling within the country.
Vaccinated individuals can instead show their vaccination cards for their interzonal travel, although travelers would still be required to undergo health and exposure screening upon arrival at their destination.
Intrazonal movement for fully vaccinated senior citizens within areas under general community quarantine and modified general community quarantine are now also allowed./DGB, WDJ
