The province of Negros Occidental yesterday received an additional 23,500 vials of Sinovac vaccines from the Department of Health (DOH).

The vaccines were part of the 500,000 doses the Philippines received last Thursday.

A total of 23,500 vials of Sinovac vaccines arrived at the Bacolod-Silay Airport yesterday morning. They were immediately brought to the airport’s cold storage room.

Dr. Zeaphard Caelian, head of the Negros Occidental Provincial Incident Management Team, said the vaccines arrived at the Bacolod-Silay Airport via a Philippine Airlines flight at around 8:25 a.m. They were immediately brought to the airport’s cold storage room.

Of the 23,500 vials, 16,000 were allocated for Negros Occidental while Bacolod City received 7,500 vials.

Caelian added that the province’s vaccine supply will be divided up again in order to be distributed among the local government units./DGB, WDJ
