Bacolod City will allocate P3.5 million to assist local government units (LGUs) affected by heavy rains recently.

The cities of Talisay, Silay and Victorias will get P1 million each while E.B. Magalona town will receive P500,000 cash assistance.

“I commend the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, in a meeting presided over by Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran and Executive Assistant Joemarie Vargas, for the quick response and approval of my request for assistance to our neighbors who recently experienced heavy flooding,” Mayor Evelio Leonardia said.

The mayor’s request will be submitted to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for its ratification. /WDJ
