The La Carlota City police yesterday released their initial post mortem findings on the remains of Juliet Mercader, showing she had a total of four bullet wounds on her head.

La Carlota City police chief, Police Lt. Colonel Joenel Guadalupe, said they believe two of the wounds are exit wounds, pointing out the suspects shot Mercader twice in the head.

Guadalupe said Mercader was not killed in the area and they believe her killing may have taken place elsewhere and her body was later brought to the area and buried in a shallow grave.

The police chief also believes that there was no robbery incident, since the victim’s personal belongings, which included jewelry and a gold watch, were still in her possession.

Police, however, still believe the incident may be connected to illegal drugs, since her husband Jinnefer Mercader, was killed in an anti-drug operation in Murcia.

Guadalupe further stated they are currently waiting for permission from Mercader’s family if they should carry out further examination of the victim’s remains which would determine if she was sexually assaulted prior to her death.

Meanwhile, investigators have also revealed that hours prior to being murdered, Mercader was last seen with a woman and three men in a bathing area.

Murcia town police have also determined that prior to the anti-drug operation which led to the death of Jinnefer in the town’s Barangay Minoyan, his wife was also spotted walking alongside another wanted individual, whom they have requested not to identify./DGB, WDJ
