University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) Junior Maroons is thrilled to finally securing the services of Negrense center Heinz Gabriel “Kobe” Demisana from his former school, Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts.
Junior Maroons team manager Dale Villajuan told Watchmen Daily Journal that the Pontevedra, Negros Occidental-native is a great addition to the team as it aims to recover from the cellars of UAAP juniors basketball.
“We knew that Kobe is still a work in progress but give our coaches some time and we will be able to develop his game,” Villajuan said. “He could even be considered for Batang Gilas team.”
Demisana, a former JR NBA standout, said he is very much looking forward to suit up for the Junior Maroons as he treats it as a challenge to help his squad in the UAAP season next year.
“I know na itong paglipat ko sa UPIS ay God’s will for me to become a better basketball player,” the 6-foot-7 center said. “Malaking blessing para sa akin at sa family ko ito and I will make sure na worth it po ito.”
“Isa sa challenges na nilo-look forward ko with UPIS is to help them sa UAAP. I am excited because I want to know what I can do to help the team,” Demisana said. “Physically, I already started developing my body strength kasi alam ko po ‘yung mga players doon ay malalakas.”/ASC, WDJ
