Mother will not press charges

A 46-year-old father was arrested after allegedly sexually molesting his daughter in Bacolod City. Police have requested anonymity for both the suspect and victim.
Police Station 9 (PS9) commander, Police Lieutenant Jovito Pastrana, said they arrested the suspect in a follow-up operation; however, no additional details were provided as the case is currently being handled by the Women and Children’s Protection Desk.
In a follow-up interview with the suspect, he denied the allegations and claimed to have only touched the alleged victim’s foot while positioning himself in the bed they share with his four other children.
Despite the mother of the victim affirming she has no intention to file charges, police will proceed with the filing of charges against the suspect./DGB, WDJ
