Provincial Health Office: Covid-19 monitoring will continue
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga

The Negros Occidental provincial government revealed the final patient under investigation for coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, tested negative. Negros Occidental Provincial Health Office head, Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, said all local patients under investigation have tested negative and the final three were discharged from Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) yesterday.
“This is good news,” he said, declaring the province “Covid-19-free.”
However, the provincial official said monitoring for the virus will continue, along with other diseases such as dengue.
“Surveillance and monitoring are in place and will be continued,” Tumimbang explained. “So far, we are already prepared and the systems are now in place.”
Meanwhile, CLMMRH also included a reminder in their bulletin, advising the public to verify information through the Department of Health website and stop spreading unverified news about the virus.
The regional hospital also encouraged the public to practice proper hygiene, such as washing hands regularly and observing proper cough/sneeze etiquette./DGB, WDJ
