Bacolod beats Bulacan in the Maharlika League

The Bacolod Master Sardines pulled off a 76-69 victory over the Bulacan Kuyas in the ongoing 2019/2020 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League-Lakan Cup over the weekend at the Marikina Sports Center.
Holding to a two-point advantage late in the game, Jess Mar Villahermosa and Simon Camacho spearheaded a 6-2 run by Bacolod to establish a 74-67 lead with just over a minute left. After missed conversions from Bulacan, the Master Sardines sealed the win after Camacho converted two free throws from a foul off the Kuyas’ Lyle Antipuesto with 14 seconds remaining.
Villahermosa finished with 14 points for the Bacolodnon side, while Camacho chipped in 10 markers and six boards, and Jeric Cañada flaunted an all-around game by tallying 10 points, 11 assists, and four rebounds.
“Maganda naman talaga ang potential ng team na ‘to (This team has really good potential),” said Bacolod head coach Vic Ycasiano. “It was just built late, along the way there were hurdles, but let’s see next season.”
