The man who climbed a 150-foot electrical tower in Bacolod City’s Barangay Mansilingan surrendered a sachet of shabu last Wednesday to barangay officials. Barangay Mansilingan Captain Boy Pico said 32-year-old Ives Pelowa surrendered the illicit substance, valued at P50,000, to his office during a meeting with him and his family following the incident.
Pico said the illegal drugs were immediately turned over to police.
A background check on Pelowa revealed he had previously been arrested for illegal drugs in 2017 and was released last April after completing his jail sentence.
Pelowa is presently detained at Police Station 7; however, Pico revealed plans are now being made for the subject in question to undergo drug rehabilitation.
Earlier this week, Pelowa climbed an electrical tower in the barangay’s Purok Cabugwason, where he spent at least six hours, but was eventually convinced to descend after authorities and his family negotiated with him and after seeing his two children pleading for him./DGB, WDJ
