Kaya FC-Iloilo recently revealed they have parted ways with head coach Noel Marcaida. In a lengthy social media post earlier this week, the outgoing mentor confirmed his departure after his contract, which expired on December 31, 2019, was not renewed.
“It is unfortunate that we now have to part ways but Kaya FC-Iloilo will always occupy a special place in my heart,” Marcaida said. “I will now pursue new paths but would welcome an opportunity to work with the club again at some point in the future.”
“I would like to thank Kaya FC-Iloilo for the opportunities accorded to me these last three years, during which I have learned a great deal and grown as a person and coach,” he added.
During his tenure, the club won the 2018 Copa Paulino Alcántara, which earned them a spot in the AFC Cup. In addition, he also led the Iloilo City-based side to runner-up finishes in the Philippines Football League (PFL) over the last two seasons.
“I look back proudly on our Copa Paulino Alcántara triumph in 2018, our second place finish the following year, and the PFL runner-up positions we secured in both 2018 and 2019,” Marcaida said.
“My heartfelt gratitude also goes to the 12th man-the fans and supporters,” he added. “Your ardent and steadfast support made my job a very meaningful one and our matches thrilling and memorable affairs.”/ASC, WDJ
