Ginebra hoping to go up 2-0 tonight
By Adrian Stewart Co

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel will be looking to go 2-0 in Game 2 of their 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup finals series against the Meralco Bolts tonight at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City. Ginebra won Game 1 of their best-of-seven series last Tuesday with a 91-87 win at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
“I honestly feel this is the way it’s going to be every game,” said Barangay Ginebra head coach Tim Cone. “It’s going to be a ‘grind-out,’ you know, fight to the end and see who comes out on top in the last couple of minutes.”
“Meralco is so disciplined in the way they play,” he added. “It’s really hard to get them out of their tempo.”
Meanwhile, Meralco head coach Norman Black said he hopes veteran guard Baser Amer will have his breakthrough.
“We have to try to find a way to get Baser to break through against this team because he’s struggled, even in the last couple of championship series that we played against them, particularly against LA Tenorio,” the head coach said. “He just has to dig deep and break through; have a good game against Ginebra team and against LA.”
“He played pretty well against them in the elimination round but this is a completely different story,” he added./ASC, WDJ
