Ten passengers were injured when a jeepney with Igbaras-Iloilo route was bumped by a delivery truck around 8:40 a.m. yesterday in Barangay Nanga in Iloilo’s Guimbal town.

Confined at the town’s district hospital for minor injuries were Jerson Torrato; Lovely Jocel Tuvilla; Rojelso Revilles; Girlie Caguia; Salvador Evalle; Carl Lester Duran; Noel Erasvelo; Arlene Duran; Ashaneth Myles Duran; and Rondio Fernandez.

Police report revealed the passenger jeepney driven by Michael John Erasmo was heading towards Igbaras town when it was accidentally bumped from behind by a delivery truck operated by Wilbert Gayagaya. The jeepney was thwacked to a tree and fell to a nearby canal.

The truck driver claimed that the brakes of his truck malfunctioned thus he lost control.

He was detained at Guimbal Police Station./WDJ
