Ceres FC posts videos backing Araneta

Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) President Ricardo Yanson, Jr. recently declared his candidacy for Philippine Football Federation (PFF) president. He will face incumbent President Mariano Araneta, a native of Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, when the organization holds elections later this month, November 28.
Yanson said he wants to elevate his “Football Para sa Lahat” platform, which had been implemented during his tenure as NOFA and produced various development programs.
“In previous years, we have not seen enough of this,” he stated during a recent Philippine Sportswriters Association forum. “The PFF has not invested enough resources to grow the game, especially in the regions.”
“Under a new administration, there will be deeper involvement by the football associations in the plans and programs of the PFF,” he added. “We envision more age-group tournaments for boys and girls in the coming years.”
Yanson also promised to develop the sport across the country.
“We intend to support this with more training programs for coaches, trainers, referees, and other match officials,” he explained. “We will work for the construction of more football and futsal fields to give our children opportunities to play more and better football.”
Earlier this month, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said he would endorse “a Negrense” to lead the organization.
“Negros Occidental is a football-loving province,” the governor stated. “I would want a qualified Negrense to head the PFF.”
Lacson added, he wants more local players called up to the national team.
Meanwhile, three-time Philippine Football League champions Ceres-Negros FC previously released a series of videos endorsing Araneta’s reelection. The videos featured players including midfielders Stephan Schröck, James Younghusband, and Tristan Kit Robles; along with goalkeeper Ronilo Bayan, Jr. and striker Charles Ivan Barberan.
