Acting Bacolod City Mayor El Cid Familiaran is encouraging barangay officials to set aside a portion of their budget in order to fund the installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in order to deter crime and speed up resolutions to criminal investigations.
He said barangays can use their Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office budget.
“Criminals will think twice to commit a crime if there are CCTV cameras,” Familiaran affirmed.
The call comes after separate shootings across the city over the past few days.
