34 Negros Occidental barangays considered for drug-cleared status

A total of 34 Negros Occidental barangays will undergo evaluations by the Regional Oversight Committee to be considered for drug-cleared status. Nicholas Gomez, provincial head of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, said the barangays under consideration are in Bacolod City, La Carlota City, San Carlos City, Talisay City, Kabankalan City, Pontevedra, and Valladolid.
In an interview with Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod over the weekend, he said the 34 barangays have completed the requirements.
An on-site inspection will be conducted to reveal the status of drug personalities in the respective communities.
The committee, which is composed of representatives from the PDEA, Philippine National Police, Department of Health, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government, will meet on October 29 in Iloilo City./DGB, WDJ
