With today’s opening of MassKara Festival 2019, the local Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced they will temporarily halt all road work in the city, particularly those near the main festival sites.
DPWH-Bacolod District Engineer Abraham Villareal said the decision was made in order to avoid disrupting festivities and creating additional traffic.
The city official said they will issue a special clearance to contractors hired to suspend their work while his office, along with the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office, are finalizing projects they will place on hold.
During the festivities, Villareal added, they will withdraw some of their equipment./DGB, WDJ
