A hat trick from striker Jordan Mintah led Kaya FC-Iloilo to a 5-1 win over Global Makati FC in the 2019 Philippines Football League last Saturday at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa City, Batangas.
Scoring opened in the eighth minute with Mintah successfully converting a penalty after he was brought down in the box. Five minutes later, fellow striker Darryl Roberts doubled their lead.
Mintah scored his second in the 27th minute, which was followed by a goal from Kaya defender Alfred Osei in the 32nd minute. The striker then made it 5-0 in the 36th minute.
In the second half, striker Paolo Salenga pulled one back for Global in the 63rd minute.
“We made sure our preparation was particularly tough,” Kaya FC head coach Noel Marcaida noted, pointing out the club was coming back from a long break. “We worked specifically on sharpness.”/ASC, WDJ
