After Aaron Black scored 45 points for AMA Online Education Titans in their 133-90 win over Hazchem Green Warriors in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup earlier this week at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, AMA Online secured a spot in the playoffs.
Aside from his scoring feat, the sixth highest in the league, Black also tallied a third triple-double with 12 rebounds and 18 assists.
“Si Aaron siguro hindi nabigyan ng chance noon [sa Ateneo] pero kilala ko ‘yang batang ‘ noon pa (Black was not given a chance when he was at Ateneo de Manila University but I’ve known him from before),” said AMA Online head coach Mark Herrera. “Sinabi ko sa kanya na siya inaasahan ng team pero tinutulungan pa rin siya ng teammates niya, so team effort pa rin (I told him the team has a lot of expectations but he also has to help his teammates in order to put in a team effort).”
Also contributing to the win were Dennis Santos, who added a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds; Luke Parcero with 18 points; and Alvin Fuentes and Michael De Leon each scoring 11./ASC, WDJ
