A Negrense woman recently died while undergoing a liposuction procedure at a clinic in Makati City.
Authorities identified the fatality as 43-year-old Nory Bobadilla, a businesswoman and resident of Negros Occidental.
Based on information provided by Makati City police, on July 3, Bobadilla visited a cosmetic surgery clinic in the city to undergo liposuction, a procedure where fat is removed from a particular part of the body.
While the procedure was ongoing, the patient reportedly stopped breathing, which prompted personnel to rush her to the Parañaque Doctors’ Hospital.
The victim was in a comatose state until she passed away last Saturday.
Makati City police are now investigating whether there were any lapses during the procedure.
Bobadilla’s children, meanwhile, said they were unaware their mother was in Manila to undergo cosmetic surgery./DGB, WDJ
