Man arrested for firearms possession in Pontevedra

A man believed to be intoxicated was nabbed by Pontevedra municipal police last Wednesday afternoon at Sitio Balangigay in the town’s Barangay Miranda.
Police identified the arrested suspect as 44-year-old Eric Cobol, Sr., a resident of the town’s Barangay San Juan.
Pontevedra municipal police chief, Police Captain Rhojn Darell Nigos, said they arrested Cobol after they received complaints from local residents that he allegedly discharged his firearm.
Police recovered an improvised .38 caliber revolver with four live units of ammunition, along with one empty .38 caliber shell.
The suspect faces illegal possession of firearms and ammunition charges and is detained at the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station./DGB, WDJ
