Following the realignment of forces and operational boundaries of the two army infantry brigades stationed in Negros, Philippine Army 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander (303IB), Brigadier General Benedict Arevalo, visited 94th Infantry Battalion (94IB) troops at their headquarters over the weekend in Barangay McKinley, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.
Arevalo, who was assigned to the said army post when he was a captain, was received by 94IB battalion commander, Lt. Colonel Randy Pagunuran, along with other officials.
Prior to realignment, 94IB was under the control of 302nd infantry brigade commander, Brigadier General Ignacio Madriaga, and was responsible for the security of the entirety of Negros Oriental. Currently, 94IB adjusted its jurisdiction to the 1st district of Negros Oriental.
“I want to thank 94IB for its contribution in the success of the overall campaign of the army in Negros,” Arevalo said. “It is very important that 94IB accomplishes its tasks in Negros Oriental in order for the other battalions—15IB, 62IB, and 79IB—to make Negros Occidental peaceful.”
303IB now covers the 1st to 5th provincial districts of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental’s first provincial district; with the rest of Negros under the 302IB./DGB, WDJ
