Negros Occidental governor-elect, outgoing Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, will formally turnover the Negros Occidental Provincial Board, which the vice governor presides over, to his successor, Vice Governor-elect Jeffrey Ferrer, in a ceremony during the legislative body’s regular session this afternoon.
“There will be no agenda but there will be short speeches during the session,” Lacson said.
When pressed if committee chairmanships and senior board member designations will be revealed during the event, he said Ferrer has already discussed the matter with incoming board members but affirmed, “It will be finalized by the inaugural session on July 3.”
With regard to determining senior board members, the governor-elect cited League of Vice Governors of the Philippines colleagues and explained the title is based on the “total number of votes garnered over the total number of votes registered.”
It was earlier reported, despite outgoing Provincial Board Member Salvador Escalante, Jr. speculating Board Member Rommel Debulgado would replace him in the post, the most recent Commission on Elections count shows Manuel Frederick Ko earned more votes, receiving 130,417 to Debulgado’s 105,965.
Lacson also said he will make an official announcement today at his office./DGB, WDJ
