P62M farm-to-market road among earmarked projects

Outgoing Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., along with Department of Agriculture-Region VI officials, led the turnover of Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) plans in the province earlier this week.
According to the National Economic and Development Authority, PRDP promotes a government platform supporting a modern, climate-smart, and market-oriented agri-fishery sector, along with expanding market access and improving competitiveness in the agriculture sector.
The governor noted, these will be the first PRDP plans in the Western Visayas, which he believes “will surely boost the economic activities.”
Among the items the project is expected to fund include a P61.7 million farm-to-market road in Toboso; along with funding a P146.54 million farm-to-market road and a P23.45 million bridge in Cadiz City./WDJ
