TNT KaTropa veteran Jayson Castro reportedly cited “personal priorities” in his recent withdrawal from the Philippine men’s national basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas, who are preparing for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which begins in August in China.
“If it is because of his family, I don’t think anybody can blame him,” explained Gilas head coach Joseller ‘Yeng’ Guiao. “I told him, ‘OK, I know you have served the country for a long time.’”
“I would want to have him on the team but the final say is with Jayson,” he added. “If he says, ‘’I changed my mind, I want to play again,’ I can easily give him a slot.”
