Marañón scores four goals

Ceres-Negros FC destroyed Global Makati FC over the weekend in their 2019 Philippines Football League (PFL) with an 8-0 thrashing at the Philippine Football Federation Training Center in Carmona, Cavite. Midfielder Bienvenido Marañón led the victory by earning a poker and scoring half the goals of the match.
Marañón opened early, scoring first in the 9th minute off a missed header by Ceres striker Omid Nazari. He picked up a brace four minutes later, doubling the Negrense side’s lead. In the 33rd minute, after tapping the ball off a cross from fellow Ceres midfielder Stephan Schröck, the Spanish import earned a hat trick.
Ceres went into halftime up 4-0 after a stoppage time goal from defender Mike Ott.
Into the second half, forward Mahir Karić added the club’s fifth goal in the 74th minute.
The Bacolod City-based side then scored a flurry of goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation time with Marañón scoring his fourth in the 81st minute, Jeffrey Christiaens adding one in the 86th minute, and Karić securing a brace in the 89th minute.
The defending champions currently sit atop the PFL standing with seven points, one ahead of Kaya FC-Iloilo. However, the Iloilo City-based club has game in hand./ASC, WDJ
