A 31-year-old man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly beat his uncle to death in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.

Police identified the fatality as Ronnie Lariosa, a resident of Purok San Roque in the said barangay.

Based on investigations carried out by Police Station 8 (PS8), around 5:00 p.m. the suspect, Rowel Lariosa, and the victim were riding a motorcycle and were returning home from a construction job.

However, they returned to their workplace as the suspect accidentally left behind his bag. Once the younger Lariosa retrieved his bag, he reportedly invited his uncle to have a drink at a local bar.

Once the suspect was inebriated, the two decided to leave but, while on the way home, the two had a misunderstanding. The suspect and the victim then got into a fistfight, where the elder Lariosa was knocked out.

Rowel continued home, while locals rushed the victim to the nearest hospital and was eventually declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.

Police later arrested the nephew, who is now detained at PS8 on homicide charges./DGB, WDJ
