Investigators from Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) are set to assist the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in looking into the abduction of retired Police Major Lito Pirote, which took place last week.
PRO-6 director, Police Brigadier General John Bulalacao, said he was already briefed by BCPO officer-in-charge, Police Colonel Henry Biñas, and that they are currently securing a copy of the closed-circuit television footage from the Metro Inn Hotel and other nearby establishments.
The PRO-6 chief said, while all angles are being considered, investigators are presently focused on gathering evidence and other information from witnesses and credible sources.
In the meantime, Bulalacao has asked the public for cooperation in solving the case.
The law enforcement official also said he is not sure about Pirote’s alleged involvement with illegal drugs, although he confirmed the former cop is on President Rodrigo Duterte’s drug list.
The police director also stated they are running a background check on Pirote to see if he was also previously assigned in Negros Occidental prior to becoming a member of the Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, which is based in Camp Crame, Metro Manila./DGB, WDJ
