Kaya FC-Iloilo fell short against PSM Makassar of Indonesia’s Liga 1, losing 2-1 in the ongoing 2019 AFC Cup group stage yesterday at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

The Indonesian club opened with a goal in the 21st minute from a header by midfielder Rizky Pellu, who scored off a pass from fellow midfielder Wiljan Pluim. They quickly doubled their advantage three minutes later after striker Eero Markkanen made it 2-0.

In the second half, Kaya FC was handed an advantage after PSM Makassar defender Abdul Rahman Sulaiman was shown a red card and ejected from the match.

Striker Jovin Bedic pulled one back for the Ilonggo side late in the match but it wasn’t enough to escape defeat.

Kaya next faces Lao Toyota on April 30 at the Panaad. In their previous meeting, the two clubs drew 1-1./ASC, WDJ
