The CEU Scorpions made short work of the CD14 Designs-Trinity Stallions in their 93-69 trouncing yesterday in the 2019 PBA D-League at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao, Quezon City.

Maodo Malick Diouf delivered 27 points, 18 rebounds, and four blocks for the winners, while Jan Formento added 17 markers.

Diouf spearheaded the Scorpions’ hot start with inside conversions as they grabbed an early 31-15 first quarter lead that extended to 28 points, 45-17, midway through the second period.

In addition, Formento, Pierce Chan, and Judel Fuentes contributed their share to help the Scorpions grab a lead as high as 30 points, 90-60, in the fourth frame.

“I was worried about my team because [CD14 Designs-Trinity Stallions] are winless and my team might just take them for granted,” Scorpions head coach Frederick Pumaren said. “I told them, if they’re going get their first win, they have to get it [from] the other teams.”

In the other game, McDavid Apparels landed in the win column after five games following their 73-68 win over the FamilyMart-Enderun Titans./ASC, WDJ
