The 2019 Panaad sa Negros Festival is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 8, with a Thanksgiving Mass scheduled for 8:00 a.m., followed by the opening of various exhibits along with a lechon parade.
The festival is set to run until April 14 with various events scheduled to take place including the GMA Kapuso Fiesta on opening day; Drum and Lyre Competition, along with Binalaybay and Rondalla Competitions, the following day; Philippine Folk Dance Competition on April 10; Panaad Ballroom Dance Festival Competition and Buglas Taliambong the next day; among other activities.
In addition, Lin-ay sang Negros Pageant Night is slated for 7:00 p.m. on April 12.
Earlier this year, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. said he plans to make Panaad sa Negros Festival booths open year-round.
Traditionally, booths are only open during the annual celebration.
At the time, the governor said he would request mayors across the province to prepare their respective presentations as permanent exhibits./WDJ
