Following last weekend’s Earth Hour observance, where electricity was switched off for one hour last Saturday from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Mikel S. Claur of the Ayala Capitol Central Mall marketing team said the retail establishment is looking to continue their work with environmental issues.

“Ayala Malls is open to any organization [that] supports the cause of the environment,” he said.

The mall’s Earth Hour observance was conducted in partnership with the World Wide Fund.

Aside from the push to conserve electricity, the mall implemented “No Plastic Wednesday” last month, which seeks to limit the use of plastics.

“Ayala Malls is participating in this big step for this collaborative effort, from different establishments worldwide, to protect the environment,” Claur explained. “That is why we encourage our customers to help our environment by refusing to use plastics or plastic straws, and reuse their grocery bags.”

“Through these initiatives we educate our customers the important message of this cause,” he added./WDJ
