De La Salle University (DLSU) exacted revenge on the University of Santo Tomas (UST) with a 21-25, 25-23, 25-19, 26-24 win in the 81st UAAP women’s volleyball season last Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Desiree Cheng led the win with 20 points; while Ilongga Aduke Ogunsaya added 12 markers, including four blocks.

After losing the first set, DLSU bounced back in the second frame with a 19-12 edge. UST then managed to claw its way back for a 23-all score.

Ogunsaya and Cheng went on to nail the marginal points for DLSU.

In the third set, DLSU leaned on the multiple attack errors by UST, particularly from rookie Ejiya Laure, as they surged to a 19-12 edge and never looked back.

Both teams were in a tight exchange in the fourth with DLSU taking a 22-20 edge. UST then equaled the score at 23 but Lourdes Clemente carried the eventual winners with back-to-back blocks./ASC, WDJ
