La Carlota City player shines for Team Hustle

Mark Nonoy of La Carlota City carried the offensive load for Team Hustle in the fourth period during their 94-86 win over Team Heart in their 2019 Chooks-to-Go NBTC All-Star Game exhibition game over the weekend at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

With both teams trading leads early in the fourth quarter, the Negrense player began his takeover with a go-ahead triple, bringing the team to an 80-78 advantage. After the score was tied at 80, he unloaded nine straight points for an 89-82 lead.

Nonoy delivered 16 of his total 23 points in the fourth quarter and was later named Most Outstanding player.

“Iba ‘yung feeling kasi dati, pangarap ko lang makalaro sa ganitong arena, tapos ngayon, na-award pa ako ng Most Outstanding Player (It’s a different feeling because I used to dream about playing in this type of arena and now I’ve been awarded Most Outstanding Player),” he said.

Also contributing to Team Hustle’s win was Far Eastern University’s RJ Abarrientos, who put up 13 markers and eight rebounds./ASC, WDJ
