Magnolia Hotshots power forward Marc Pingris is nearing his return to the hardcourt after being sidelined for almost a year following an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL. He is hoping to participate in this year’s PBA All-Star Week, which is set to take place from March 29 to 30 in Calasiao, Pangasinan, his home province.

“Malapit na; OK naman na (It’s close; things are OK),” he said. “Every day workout, sprint kami, nagja-jump na rin kami tapos shooting (Working out every day – we sprint, jump, and shoot).”

“Nakaka-jump shot na ako, nakaka-lateral na ako sa workouts namin (I’m doing jump shots and laterals during workouts),” Pingris added. “All about timing [and] more power.”

Despite not playing since last March, the Pangasinan native was selected by 12 coaches as a North All-Stars reserve./ASC, WDJ
