DBTI, UNO-R among tournament winners

The 2019 Dynamic Football League (DFL) 1st Conference recently named winners in various divisions at the Sta. Maria Football Field in Talisay City.

Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) defeated the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) to capture the Born 2008 boys’ category.

DBTI athletes captured three individual awards with France Pagador winning MVP, Joshua Padiila taking Best Defender, and Andrie Salud named Best Goalkeeper. UNO-R’s John Canoy won Best Midfielder and, after scoring 21 goals in the competition, Wes Benedict Escanlar of Pontevedra took Best Striker honors.

Despite losing in the finals of the Born 2008 boys’ division, UNO-R won the Born 2010 mixed category.

UNO-R nearly swept individual honors with Martin Villanueva as MVP, Johan Estomata – Best Goalkeeper, Rhybel Pateño – Best Midfielder, and Chris Eduard Tolimao – Best Defender. Best Striker went to John Rendon of Pontevedra.

In the Born 2004 girls’ category, Canlaon Hijas won after defeating Pontevedra in the finals. The team also nearly swept the individual awards with Chenny Dañoso winning both MVP and Best Striker, Jennyfer Milla named Best Goalkeeper, Kryshna Kae Sia as Best Defender.

Best Midfielder went to Pontevedra’s Hanna Montalban.

Meanwhile, Pontevedra-A won the Born 2012 mixed division./ASC, WDJ
