An undermanned San Miguel Alab Pilipinas fell to Taiwan’s Formosa Dreamers, 79-71, in the 2019 ASEAN Basketball League over the weekend at the Changhua Country Stadium in Taiwan.

Despite being shorthanded, as the Philippines had Renaldo Balkman, Lawrence Domingo, Caelan Tiongson, and Brandon Rosser all unavailable due to injury, the defending champions still led 62-59 going into the final period; however, the Taiwanese squad went on a 12-2 run, giving them a 71-66 advantage.

Tevin Glass led the Formosa Dreamers with a double-double, scoring 27 points and making 12 rebounds; while Malcolm Miller added 18 points and 12 rebounds, and William Artino chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds.

This was second time the Philippines has lost to the Taiwanese outfit. The two are set to meet again on Sunday, March 17./ASC, WDJ
