Following his February 2018 technical knockout win over Dondon Navarez, Silay City native Sonny Boy Jaro makes his return to the ring tonight as he battles Indonesian boxer Boido Simanjuntak at the Angono Municipal gym in Angono, Rizal.
“Ready na tayo sa ating boxing return (We are ready for our return to boxing),” said the 36-year-old Negrense. “Kahit na medyo matagal tayong walang fight ay siniguro ko naman na ako ay kondisyon para sa fight na ito (Even though we haven’t had a fight in a while, I am sure I am in condition for this fight).”
Simanjuntak, however, was a last minute replacement after Jaro’s original opponent, Indonesian fighter Frans Damur Palue, was barred from traveling as his passport was nearing its expiration.
The Pinoy boxer enters the bout with a 44-14-5 win-loss-draw while the 34-year-old Simanjuntak carries a 24-53-2 record./ASC, WDJ
