NLEX earns first Philippine Cup win

The NLEX Road Warriors picked up their first win in the ongoing 2019 Honda PBA Philippine Cup after manhandling the Columbian Dyip, 107-97, last night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
John Paul Erram led the win with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists; while Kenneth Ighalo and Marion Magat added 19 and 14 points, respectively.
The Road Warriors were scorching from the field with a 27-6 start behind Erram, Magat, Ighalo, and Mark Tallo. The onslaught continued for the Road Warriors with by back-to-back treys by Paul Asi Taulava for a 60-31 edge.
Late shots from the Dyip cut the deficit to 68-42.
The Dyip mounted a comeback in the second half and managed to come to as close as 86-91 in the fourth period but conversions from Magat and Philip Paniamogan sealed the win for the Road Warriors.
JayR Reyes finished with 17 points for the Dyip, including four triples; while rookie Jaymar Perez and Rashawn McCarthy added 16 markers each./ASC, WDJ
