A Philippine Football Federation (PFF) official confirmed head coach for the Philippine men’s national football team Sven-Göran Eriksson has reached the end of his contract.
“He was not fired but really on a short-term engagement,” PFF General Secretary Edwin Gastanes explained in an interview with the AFP. “He is available for consultation still.”
The former manager for the English national football team is said to be talks with the Brisbane Roar in Australia’s A-League.
As Azkals coach, Göran Eriksson guided the team in the 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup, where they lost to Vietnam in the semifinals; along with the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, losing all three of their group stage matches./ASC, WDJ
