World Boxing Association welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is not yet giving up hope on a possible rematch with Floyd Mayweather, Jr., pointing out, many countries have expressed interest in hosting the event.
“Maraming bansa na nagbi-bid ng laban (Many countries are bidding for the fight),” he said. “Meron China, Dubai, kung sakaling matuloy ang rematch (We have China or Dubai if the rematch happens).”
Pacquiao added, the fight would either be in May or July, noting, “Kasi wala tayong trabaho sa Senate (We don’t have work in the Senate then).”
The fighters recently met during an NBA game between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
“Nag-say hello pa lang naman ako doon (He only said ‘Hello’ to me then),” the senator said. “Hindi kami nag-usap about sa rematch (We didn’t talk about a rematch).”
He added, developments on a possible rematch could come in one to two weeks./ASC, WDJ
