Angel Canino of Bacolod City was one of 38 volleyball players to participate in the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. expansion tryouts last Thursday at the Arellano University gym in Pasay City for a chance to join the pool for the Philippine women’s national volleyball seniors and U-23 teams.

The Negrense player has suited up for both Bacolod Tay Tung High School and De La Salle Santiago Zobel School, whom she recently led to the UAAP juniors volleyball championship.

If selected, the national team is scheduled to compete in the Asian U-23 Championships and the Southeast Asian Games this year./ASC, WDJ
