Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led a team to bid for Negros Occidental to host the 2021 Palarong Pambansa before the Department of Education (DepEd) in Quezon City earlier this week.

“We have successfully presented the province’s bid for the Palarong Pambansa hosting in 2021,” he declared. “Winning the hosting rights for Palaro will be huge for the province since it has been two decades since we [last] hosted this event.”

According to DepEd-Division of Negros Occidental Sports Coordinator Romeo Sison, the Negros Occidental delegation highlighted the quality and accessibility of playing venues as well as their proximity to lodging facilities.

“We hope to secure the bid for hosting the 2021 Palaro considering the quality of our playing venues and billeting areas,” he said.

Meanwhile, Capiz also bid to host the event.

This year, the Palarong Pambansa will be held in Davao City while next year’s edition will be staged in Luzon./ASC, WDJ
