At least P36,000 worth of shabu was seized following a Thursday night buy-bust operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and San Carlos City Police Station in the city’s Barangay 6.
Police identified the suspect as 40-year-old Jose Mayo Silva, a high-value drug target and resident of the said neighborhood.
Based on information provided by PDEU, Silva had been under surveillance by police and is said to be a member of the Bertucio Drug Group, which operates throughout the Negros Occidental first congressional district.
Police recovered a total eight sachets of suspected shabu, suspected drug proceeds amounting to P500, and the P500 marked money.
